What did I think? Meh…It’s kinda cool I guess. But even on my Quest Pro, the pass through cameras aren’t that great. Everything is still pretty grainy. And the edges on the girl aren’t as precise as typical green screen in video.
While it’s kinda cool, I don’t think the technology is quite there yet. I don’t think I’ll find myself using it that much unfortunately.

I always read over this in the official DeoVr passthrough instructions 😬:
1. If you haven’t already, update to the latest version of the DeoVR app. Go to Global Settings -> Personalize -> Under 'Virtual Environments' select 'Passthrough'.
And without this setting, the background in the video will only change from green to black.

Yes.
Normally, I also connect the Quest 2 to the PC using Air-Link. I have Deo installed on the PC and an internal hard drive holds my VR library.
But the idea of exchanging the "green/black background" with "passthrough-my room" motivated me to look for a solution.
-> I connect the Quest 2 with cable to the PC. And transfer the video to the Quest 2 in the "movies" folder.
-> Then I disconnect the Quest 2 from the PC, remove the cable.
-> Deo is installed on the Quest 2. From the official Oculus/Meta store, up to date.
-> I launch Deo and check the Global-Setting -> Personalize -> ...
-> Now i select the video transferred to the Quest 2.
-> I start the video with Deo and of course then i have to do all the Deo Passhrough Chroma-key settings.
-> And now the action is in "my-room".
😁 I hope the german-english translator has produced something readable.
