Trevor LeRue

Trevor’s journey into the world of immersive technology began with the development and release of the Google Cardboard and has come a long way since his early days in his native Toronto. In the years since, Trevor's intense passion for all things VR, AR, and XR has grown and evolved with the industry.

Armed with a natural talent for understanding complex technology, Trevor began developing rudimentary VR applications in his teens. Eschewing traditional education to pursue his passion, he dropped out of college and fully immersed himself in developing technologies that straddle the edge of what's currently possible.

In 2013, Trevor embarked on his professional journey with a start-up focused on wireless VR technology. His innovative work soon led to the co-founding of POVR, with the goal of bringing high-quality, immersive VR content to the masses.

At POVR, Trevor has been a driving force behind the creation of an immersive, uninterrupted VR streaming experience. His work has led to the development of a unique VR platform that lets users browse videos without removing their headsets - a significant stride in making VR experiences more seamless and intuitive. The immersive environment at POVR, built leveraging the power of HTML5 and JavaScript, supports both 180 and 360-degree videos, offering users a truly unique VR experience.

Trevor's work doesn't stop at what's possible now; he's always looking at what's next. Currently, he's leading a team exploring the integration of mixed reality technologies into the POVR platform. His pioneering work ensures that POVR stays at the forefront of digital entertainment, constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

His boundless enthusiasm for bleeding-edge tech, coupled with a knack for innovation, continues to guide POVR’s journey into the future of immersive entertainment.
